Our Goodies From The Scrapbook Expo

I promised a while ago on my other blog that I would show off some of the amazing stuff we got from the Scrapbook Expo. So I finally uploaded the pictures.... and here they are.

This is my little puny pile of stuff. However, I only paid 15.00 for all of it. And when you consider everything I got, it was an amazing deal!

Here is Tammy, sitting very happily in front of her amazing pile of goodies. I don't know how much she ended up paying, but she got some great stuff! There are a few things that she got that I am a little mad at myself for not getting.

And then there is Holly's massive pile. She did some great shopping as well. I am truly amazed with the great deals we found.

I am planning on saving as much money as possible so I can get a LOT more in September when the expo will be back. They had refurbished cricut machines for 99.00. I know that both Holly and I are going to be saving so we can hopefully get one of those the next time we go.

A Few More Cards

I got together with my girls for our weekly "girls night". Sometimes we chat, other times we actually get other stuff done. This week I was able to do 2 cards. Both of which I really do like. The first one was very simple, but cute.

Supplies used

Paper: Whisper White

Ink: Real Red and Basic Black

Accessories: Black brads, Real Red Ribbon

Stamp Set: Spring Solitude, Solitude Wheel

I haven't used Stampin wheels very often, but all I did was ink the wheel up in Real Red and roll it across the card. I put a brad in a few of the flowers to add a little to the card. Very simple, but so fun!

My second card also turned out great, but I did not get very good pictures of it. I used the "z card" technique. If you click here it will take you to the instructions on how to fold the z card. Here is a picture of the card I did, so it'll give you an idea of what it should look like.

Supplies used

Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White, River Rock

Inks: Basic Black, River Rock, Versamark Pad

Accessories: White embossing powder, Coluzzle (to cut out circles). dimensionals

Stamp Sets: Spring Solitude

I am hoping that sometime soon, I can start demonstrating Stampin' Up! If you are interested at all, please let me know. I would love to share techniques and ideas. Hope you enjoyed these cards!

Brown and Pink

I love using brown and pink together in a card. Stampin' Up! has this great designer paper that incorporates the two colors, and it is some of my favorite paper. I had a lot of fun making a card while at work today. It's not usually the style I like, but I like the way it turned out. I used the same stamp set that I did on the butterfly card. So here it is....

I used a lot of supplies on this one, and I don't think many people look at this blog anyway, so if you want to find out what I did use or how to make this card, leave a comment for me :)

Butterfly card

I made this card today, and it has turned out to be one of my favorites. It's a very simple card, and honestly didn't take a very long time to do.

For those who are familiar with Stampin' Up! products, these are the ones I used for this card:

Paper: Whisper White, Purely Pomegranate

Inks: Purely Pomegranate, Basic Black

Stamp sets: Priceless, Short & Sweet

Accessories: Black brads, Whisper White Grosgrain ribbon rubbed with Purely Pomegranate Ink, dimensionals

There are so many people that tell me they can't do something like this. I was one of those people 7 months ago. Believe me, you can! I promise it is not hard to do. If you ever want to come hang out and do some cards, let me know. So easy and so fun to do!!

Lots of petals

As you can see, I've been a bit busy making flowers. I have a great project going on for Mother's Day. I will be posting more pictures as I'm working on it. But to give you an idea of what I am doing, each of the flowers will have a (head shot) picture of my family members in the middle. The flowers will be mounted on wooden dowels and placed in a vase filled with potpourri. I'm hoping it will turn out nicely. The hardest part is finding pictures of everyone.

Frames

I wanted to make something special for my brothers kids. I never get to see them and wanted them to have something special from their Aunt Mandi. So I made them each a matte for a frame. I think they turned out pretty well, and I really enjoyed making them. I hope they like them and are able to use them. Sorry about the picture quality. I had to snap some pictures before I sent them back east with my dad. But you can get the idea of what they look like.

Easter Egg

So my stamping friends and I are trying to get together again because we all desperately miss making cards and chatting together. So last week I found this pattern on another blog and decided I would tweak it a little. I love this easter set. The little chick in it is sooo cute. And you can't really tell by the picture, but this a little candy holder. Great for holding candy in celophane. At least I think that's what I'm planning on doing with it.
